Purpose of Learning

  • At Eternal Impact Academy, we believe that wisdom and learning are not pursuits of self-advancement, but instruments for God’s glory. Every lesson, discovery, and skill we gain is to be surrendered back to Him for His purposes. Knowledge without humility leads to pride, but knowledge yielded to Christ leads to transformation.

  • We study to know Him more deeply, to serve others more faithfully, and to influence the world for His Kingdom. Like the faithful men and women of Scripture—Moses, Daniel, Esther, Paul, and many others—we pray that our learning will be used by God to lead, disciple, and build His Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.

  • Our prayer is that our students would be used as…

    • Moses – “Educated in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and powerful in speech and action.” — Acts 7:22

    • Daniel – “Then the king ordered Ashpenaz, chief of his court officials, to bring into the king’s service some of the Israelites from the royal family and the nobility–young men without any physical defect, handsome, showing aptitude for every kind of learning, well informed, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the king’s palace.  He was to teach them the language and literature of the Babylonians.” –  Daniel 1:3-4

      • “I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors: You have given me wisdom and power, you have made known to me what we asked of you, you have made known to us the dream of the king.”  Daniel 2:23

    • Paul – “While Paul was waiting for them in Athens, he was greatly distressed to see that the city was full of idols.  So he reasoned in the synagogue with both Jews and God-fearing Greeks, as well as in the marketplace day by day with those who happened to be there.”  Acts 17:16-17 (Paul is able to reason with the Epicurean and Stoic Philosophers)

      • Also, Acts 22:3, Philippians 3:4-6

    • Solomon – “God gave Solomon wisdom and very great insight... He spoke three thousand proverbs and his songs numbered a thousand and five... From all nations people came to listen to Solomon’s wisdom.” – 1 Kings 4:29-34

    • Ezra – “This Ezra came up from Babylon. He was a teacher well versed in the Law of Moses... For Ezra had devoted himself to the study and observance of the Law of the Lord, and to teaching its decrees and laws in Israel.” – Ezra 7: 6, 10

    • Luke – “Our dear friend, Luke, the doctor…” –Colossians 4:14

    • Apollos – “Meanwhile a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, came to Ephesus. He was a learned man, with a thorough knowledge of the Scriptures. He had been instructed in the way of the Lord, and he spoke with great fervor and taught about Jesus accurately.” – Acts 18:24-25

    • Joseph (Old Testament) – “Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, ‘Since God has made all this known to you, there is no one so discerning and wise as you.’” – Genesis 41:39-40

    • Esther and Mordecai – Their discernment, diplomacy, and knowledge of royal protocol enabled them to influence a pagan king and save God’s people. – Esther 4:14-16; 7:3-4

    • Nehemiah – Nehemiah’s letters, logistics, and communication reveal administrative wisdom guided by faith. – Nehemiah 2:7-8; 6:3

    • Timothy – “Continue in what you have learned... how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.” – 2 Timothy 3:14-15

    • Priscilla and Aquila – “When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they invited him to their home and explained to him the way of God more accurately.” – Acts 18:26

    • Deborah – “Now Deborah, a prophet, the wife of Lappidoth, was leading Israel at that time... the Israelites went up to her to have their disputes decided.” – Judges 4:4-5
